Wildflowers at Gum Springs
After our trip to Rocky Bluff (pictures here if you missed them), I was eager to get out and try some more wildflower photography. I got some advice on an area with dense beds of flowers, not far from the road, so Lucy and I headed down. I hardly pulled into the lot and saw several flowers that I would want to photograph!
Lucy was asleep, so I just grabbed the carseat and set her down in the grass while I took the first few shots. She woke up and I gave her a meal next to the creek. Lucy also got to meet her first horses ever as some friendly women were heading out for a ride. We maintained appropriate social distance, but she still followed them as they walked by.

After her meal, which was a bit of a struggle, we headed across the street and into the woods. There, we found incredible beds of Spring Blue-eyed Mary flowers! each of the beds was 10s of yards in diameter and dense as could be. There were dozens of these beds and it seemed that we could just find more and more as we walked.
I found a mostly bare spot so Lucy could get in on the photoshoot. Of course, it took mere seconds for her to grab a flower and move it straight to her mouth!
One more wildflower trip to come...
