Vam anar a Mallorca, Day 7: Platja d'Alcanada and Port de Pollença


On this day, we took a field trip with the geologists to Platja d'Alcanada for some snorkeling in the seagrass beds and sediment nerding.  Frankly, these were not the best seagrass beds on the island.  They weren't as lush as some I had already seen, but I think the site was chosen for its accessibility and multiple seagrass species (and wind direction).  The woman who ran the Tramuntana Diving & Adventure dive shop was delightful and really knowledgeable.  While the geologists talked about sand, I did some muck-diving. 





Then we headed to Imperial Bar & Tapas where we did tapas right, ordering a pile of different items for the table and passing them around.




I walked around Port de Pollença while the geologists looked at sediment under a microscope.  Beautiful decor and textures abounded.







Next, we travel together around the island(s)...
